Privacy Policy

Dream Wedds helps couples build a wedding website and manage their guest list. That means we handle two quite different kinds of information: details about you, and details about the guests you invite. This policy explains what we collect in each case, why, who we share it with, and how you can get it removed.
1. Who we are
Dream Wedds ("we", "us") operates dreamwedds.com and the Dream Wedds mobile app. We are based at Apex Golf Avenue, Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh, India. For anything in this policy you can reach us at legal@dreamwedds.com.
Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, we act as the Data Fiduciary for your account data. Where the GDPR applies, we are the controller of that same data.
2. What we collect

We do not collect your payment card details. Card and UPI data is entered directly with our payment gateway and never reaches our servers — see section 5.
3. Your guests' data
When you upload a guest list, you are asking us to process other people's personal data on your behalf. You remain responsible for having a proper basis to share their details with us — in practice, that they would reasonably expect an invitation from you.
For guest data we act as a Data Processor (a "Data Processor" under the DPDP Act, a "processor" under the GDPR). We use it only to carry out what you ask us to do — send an invitation, record an RSVP, deliver a WhatsApp reminder. We do not market to your guests, sell their details, or use them to build profiles.
If one of your guests contacts us directly asking to be removed, we will remove them from your list and tell you we've done so.
When a guest RSVPs through your website we record their response, their headcount and any message they leave for you.
4. How we use it
- To provide the service — building, hosting and publishing your wedding website
- To send invitations and reminders that you schedule, by email or WhatsApp
- To process purchases and send you receipts
- To send service messages — password resets, RSVP notifications, expiry warnings
- To keep the platform secure and investigate misuse
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data or your guests' data to train machine-learning models.
6. The mobile app
The Dream Wedds app asks for two device permissions, both optional:
- Contacts — only if you use "Add from Contacts" to build your guest list. Only the contacts you actually tick are uploaded. We never read or upload your address book in the background, and we never upload it wholesale.
- Photos — only when you pick an image to add to your own wedding website. We access the specific images you choose, not your photo library.
If you enable notifications, we store a push token so we can alert you to new RSVPs and reminders. You can revoke any of these permissions in your device settings at any time, and the rest of the app continues to work.
The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking software.
7. How long we keep it
- Account and wedding data — while your account is open, and until you ask us to delete it
- Guest lists — until you delete the guest, the wedding, or your account
- Message delivery logs — a limited window for troubleshooting and billing disputes
- Invoices and transaction records — as long as Indian tax law requires, typically eight financial years, even after you delete your account
- Backups — deleted data persists in encrypted backups for a short rotation period before being overwritten
8. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate — most of it you can edit yourself in your profile
- Delete your account and data — see our data deletion page
- Withdraw consent where we relied on it, without affecting what we did beforehand
- Object to or restrict processing in certain circumstances
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
Email legal@dreamwedds.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first — that protects you as much as us. If you believe we've mishandled your data you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local supervisory authority if you're in the EU or UK.
9. Security
All traffic runs over HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are salted and hashed. Access to production data is restricted to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
11. Children
Dream Wedds is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for anything significant we will email you or show a notice when you next sign in. Continuing to use Dream Wedds after a change means you accept the updated policy.
13. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the following officer handles complaints about this policy, your personal data, or your use of Dream Wedds.
